Let's start with where you want to go.
Whether you are set on a particular destination and specific dates or are still considering what your trip may involve, go ahead and tell me what you're imagining. Let me know anything you’d like me to take into consideration.
This helps us get off to a clear start.
I'll review your inquiry and we'll take it from there.
What happens next?
-
Complete the short inquiry form with what you know so far:
where you're considering
when you'd like to travel
who's coming
what matters most to you
budget per night
If this is our first time working together, tell me anything else you need me to know (dietary requirements, mobility concerns, favorite hotel brands, etc).
-
I'll review your inquiry and follow up to discuss your trip, answer initial questions and determine how I can best help.
-
Once we’ve agreed on the scope of your trip and how I can best help, I’ll send over the Terms & Conditions for your review and signature. This will include details of any applicable planning fee.
-
With the details taken care of, I'll begin researching, recommending and bringing your trip together.
How can I help?
Hotel Bookings
Already know where you're going — or even where you'd like to stay? I can check rates for a hotel you've already chosen, compare a few options you're considering, make recommendations, and secure the right property for your stay.
Through my affiliation with Fora, I can efficiently search and compare options across a global network of more than 180,000 hotels and other travel experiences. My clients can also benefit from Fora's preferred partner relationships with thousands of properties worldwide, which offer perks such as complimentary breakfast, property credits, upgrades and other amenities when available.
This is the right fit if you:
already know the hotel you'd like to book
have narrowed your search to a few properties and would like help choosing between them
know your destination and would like recommendations for a great place to stay
are comfortable managing the broader details of your trip yourself
Custom Itinerary Planning
Need help figuring out what the trip itself should look like? This is a more hands-on planning service.
This might mean comparing destinations, designing a multi-stop itinerary, working out the most sensible route, or coordinating transportation, tours, guides and other experiences.
The goal is to bring all the moving pieces together into a cohesive, thoughtfully designed trip that makes sense for you.
This is the right fit if you:
aren't quite sure where to go
are planning a multi-stop trip and would like help determining the destinations, route and pacing
would like recommendations and research tailored to your interests, priorities and travel style
need help coordinating transportation, tours, guides, activities or other details beyond accommodation
want someone to do the heavy lift of planning for you, rather than researching, comparing and coordinating the trip yourself
How does pricing work?
How I'm compensated depends on the type of trip we're planning.
Hotel Bookings
For most hotel bookings, there is no fee. When you book a commission-paying hotel through me, the hotel compensates me after your stay.
You benefit from personalized recommendations, rate comparisons and booking support, as well as preferred rates and partner amenities when available.
Non-Commissionable Stays
Some great places to stay fall outside the traditional travel advisor commission model. This can include national park accommodations, homestays, vacation rentals, and some smaller independent properties.
When these make up a significant portion of your trip, a planning fee may apply. This allows me to recommend and book what I believe is right for your trip, regardless of whether a particular property compensates travel advisors.
Custom Itinerary Planning
Custom itinerary planning is priced according to the length and complexity of your trip. This allows me to dedicate the time required to research and thoughtfully design your journey, compare options, coordinate the details and support you throughout the planning process.
Comprehensive itinerary planning begins at $50 per travel night.
Not sure what your trip requires?
No problem! Once I've reviewed your inquiry and we've had a chance to connect, I'll advise on the level of support your trip needed and clearly outline any applicable fee before research and planning begins.
Initial inquiries and discovery calls are always complimentary and committment-free.
FAQs
-
Not at all. Some clients come to me with dates, destinations and even specific hotels in mind. Others have a general idea of the experience they're looking for and need help figuring out where to go.
Share what you know in the inquiry form, and we'll use that as our starting point.
-
No. South Africa is where my experience runs deepest, but I help clients plan travel around the world.
Through my affiliation with Fora, I have access to a global network of hotels and travel partners, along with destination specialists and local experts who can provide additional insight when needed.
-
Earlier is generally better, particularly for trips involving safari, popular destinations, peak travel periods or accommodations with limited availability.
That said, there's no hard rule. If you're planning something on a shorter timeline, send an inquiry and I'll let you know what's realistically possible.
-
Yes. As part of custom itinerary planning, I can help research and coordinate the different pieces of your trip, including transportation, tours, guides and experiences.
Flight support can be incorporated where appropriate, although most flights are best booked direct by the customer, as airlines won’t allow me to speak on your behalf to troubleshoot should issues arise - they will only speak to the ticketed passenger. Delays do happen and managing your flight directly can often be the quickest way to resolve any issues.
-
For commission-paying hotels, there is typically no separate planning fee, and I can compare available rates and booking options on your behalf. Through Fora's preferred partnerships, some rates will lower and bookings may also include additional benefits such as breakfast, property credits or upgrades when available.
For custom itinerary planning or trips involving significant non-commissionable components, a planning fee may apply. Any applicable fee will be clearly outlined and agreed upon before planning begins.
-
Travel plans evolve. If your dates, priorities or other details change during the planning process, we'll work through the adjustments together. I generally recommend bookings with flexible cancellation and encourage clients to opt for travel insurance.
If a significant change substantially alters the agreed scope of planning, I'll discuss any implications with you before doing additional work.
